Aluminium is the most abundant metal on the planet and can be used for a wide range of applications. Different alloys provide different properties and our expertise in metallurgy means we can work with you to determine the best specification for your needs. Our total melting capacity is 2500kg and typically we produce items in these alloys:

LM4 - Suitable for most general engineering purposes where moderate mechanical properties are desirable. Most commonly used on sand casting but also pressure die casting and gravity die casting due to its casting properties.

LM6 - Excellent resistance to corrosion under both ordinary atmospheric and marine conditions. For the severest conditions this can be further enhanced by anodic treatment. This alloy has good fluidity and can be used for sand casting but is more typically used in gravity die casting or pressure die casting.

LM13 - This alloy shows high resistance to corrosion under atmospheric conditions. Good for gravity die casting.

LM25 - This heat-treated alloy has good machining properties whilst resistance to corrosive attack by sea water and marine atmospheres is high. Great for sand casting and used in shell moulding and gravity die casting for a high integrity product when typically heat treated to TF. Typically used in automotive industry but also high end engineering.

LM27 - Is a very versatile alloy used for general purpose castings requiring moderate strength and mechanical properties. General engineering, electrical tools, engine and transmission components, household fittings. It is ideal for both sand casting and gravity die casting.

After careful fettling all our castings have the option of being put through our Sisson Lehmann shot blasting machine.

Completely Machined Castings
To provide a complete one stop engineering solution we can provide completely machined castings using our Haas CNC machining centres.
Powder Coating
In gloss or matt finishes.
Our power coating facility allows us to supply castings painted uniformly, after shot balsting and etching.
Rumbling & Polishing
De-burr and shine!
Castings that may need to be handled are part of assembly or form part of a decorative item can be rumbled to de-burr the surfaces.
Heat Treatment, HiP & Impregnation

We perform heat treatment in a highly controlled environment to ensure that the casting retains its original shape without cracking.
Conventional Machining
